Fiat Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

This policy explains how personal data is handled in the Fiat mobile app. Fiat is designed to work without mandatory accounts and with a privacy-first approach.

4. Spiritual and religious context

Fiat is a Catholic app, so the use of the app may reveal an interest in Catholic spirituality. Fiat is designed not to store personal prayers, confessions, counseling notes or sensitive religious statements on remote servers. If future features process special-category data, Fiat will request the legally required consent or provide an appropriate legal basis before doing so.

Fiat does not request medical information, diagnoses, clinical history, treatments, mental-health data or health information. The user should not enter this type of information in notes, calendar entries, forms or free-text fields.

5. Purposes and legal bases

Provide the app experience

Purpose: save local progress and personalize daily content.
Legal basis: performance of the service requested by the user and legitimate interest in operating the app.

Improve Fiat through analytics

Purpose: anonymous or aggregated analytics to improve the app.
Legal basis: user consent where required, or legitimate interest where permitted.

Maintain technical stability

Purpose: crash reports and technical diagnostics.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and stable.

Show rewarded ads

Purpose: rewarded ads and ad consent management.
Legal basis: consent where required, and legitimate interest or contractual need to fund the free app where non-personalized ads are used.

Send reminders

Purpose: local notifications and reminders.
Legal basis: user consent through the device permission settings.

6. Firebase, Firestore and remote content

Fiat may use Firebase Firestore to download app content such as challenges, paths, lessons, reflections, daily content and configuration. User progress is intended to remain local unless Fiat clearly states otherwise in a future version.

7. Analytics, crashes, notifications and ads

Fiat may use Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Google AdMob. These services can process technical identifiers, diagnostics, usage events or ad-related data according to Google’s policies. Google’s privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Fiat uses Google’s certified consent tools where required for ads. If the user does not consent to personalized ads, Fiat will request non-personalized ads where available.

For users located in certain U.S. states, Fiat may use Google AdMob privacy messages for U.S. state privacy laws. These messages may allow users to exercise choices such as opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information, as those terms are defined by applicable law. Fiat does not directly sell users’ personal data, but advertising providers may process identifiers, consent signals and technical data to serve, measure, limit and protect ads according to their own policies and the choices made by the user.

8. Sharing and international transfers

Fiat does not sell user personal data. Data may be processed by service providers needed to operate the app, especially Google/Firebase/AdMob. These providers may process data outside the user’s country. Where GDPR applies, transfers are based on appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms used by the provider.

9. Minors

Fiat is not specifically directed to children. In Spain, minors under 14 need parental or guardian consent where consent is the basis for data processing. Other countries may apply different age rules.

10. Retention

Local data remains on the device until the user deletes it, clears app storage or uninstalls Fiat. Provider-side data is retained according to the provider’s retention settings and policies.

11. Your rights

Where GDPR applies, users may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and may withdraw consent when processing is based on consent. Requests can be sent to fiat.app@outlook.com. Users in Spain may also contact the Spanish Data Protection Agency at https://www.aepd.es.

12. Users outside the European Union

Fiat is drafted primarily around GDPR and Spanish law. If Fiat is offered significantly in other regions, such as the United States, additional laws may apply, including state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA in California if legal thresholds are met, and children’s privacy rules such as COPPA if the app is directed to children.

13. Changes

Fiat may update this policy to reflect legal, technical or product changes. The updated version will show its latest update date.
